Oooh....A MoFo Survey!

Keri, a fellow MoFo-er, originally compiled and posted this survey on her blog http://ieattrees.com/.  I've reposted that post below with my responses.  I look forward to checking out her blog some more...and I totally need that t-shirt.
In light of Vegan Mofo, let’s do a foodie YTT!  I’ve put together a quick “survey”, so  leave your answers in the comments section below or on your own blog.  Or if you don’t have replies for all of them, just pick a few!  If you blog your answers, be sure to leave me a link so I don’t miss your responses! Now, let’s play 20 questions Vegan MoFo style…
What is one food you thought you’d miss when you went vegan, but don’t?
Brie...and I still can't believe it!
What is a food or dish you wouldn’t touch as a child, but enjoy now?
Brussel sprouts, spinach, onions,...essentially any dark green vegetable, except broccoli (but only with cheese at the time)
What vegan dish or food you feel like you “should” like, but don’t?
baby corn ears, water chestnuts, and okra
What beverage do you consume the most of on any given day?
water
What dish are you “famous” for making or bringing to gatherings?
beet ravioli
Do you have any self-imposed food rules (like no food touching on the plate or no nuts in sweets)?
Chocolate covered cherries are gross, as are those weird chocolate orange slices that are everywhere around the holidays. (I don't think I could even eat these anymore, anyway...oh darn).  Essentially, unless is a fresh strawberry dipped in chocolate, chocolate should be fruit-free.
What’s one food or dish you tend to eat too much of when you have it in your home?
Bread -- particularly if garlic and/or rosemary are involved.
What ingredient or food do you prefer to make yourself despite it being widely available prepackaged?
salad dressing
What ingredient or food is worth spending the extra money to get “the good stuff”?
produce
Are you much of a snacker?  What are your favorite snacks?
Don't snack too often, but when I do...I really snack.  Chips and guacamole -- #1, done and done.  Followed by pretzels with hummus or pb.
What are your favorite vegan pizza toppings?
spinach and garlic
What is your favorite vegetable?  Fruit?
collards, grapes
What is the best salad dressing?
What is your favorite thing to put on toasted bread?
peanut butter
What kind of soup do you most often turn to on a chilly day or when you aren’t feeling your best?
Lentil soup from Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone; thanks to the newlyweds from bringing this recipe and cookbook into my life...for cheap!
What is your favorite cupcake flavor? Frosting flavor?
If we are going comfort cupcake/cake, yellow cake, chocolate frosting -- preferably straight from the pan.
What is your favorite kind of cookie?
tie between snickerdoodle and gingersnap
What is your most-loved “weeknight meal”?
Refried bean soup
What is one dish or food you enjoy, but can’t get anyone else in your household to eat?
The hub eats sweet potatoes only under duress, as in they are inextricable from the dish and there is nothing else to eat.
How long, in total,  do you spend in the kitchen on an average day?
1-2 hours (right now...probably more)
How many fingers am I holding up? (Just kidding… but the answer is 11.  “My name is Inigo Montoya…”)
This last aside was from Keri, and you know that anyone who quotes The Princess Bride is definitely worth reading.   One of the best parts of Mo-Fo-ing thus far is to find so many other new individuals of like  food mind and lifestyle. Yay

And I leave you with this: while I was trying to think of my most disliked food that I should like, my dog was whacking himself in his own face with his own wagging tail. Hilarious.

  1. No, no you shouldn't like baby corn. It's dreadful. You're completely correct in not liking it. Great answers! Thank you for the link! :)
